Appreciating Modern Interior Design

June 17, 2007 by sachinskg

A lot has been circulated about modern interior designs ranging from the insipid to the weird to the pristine. Though I approve that white and chrome is a poor color scheme, there are other modern interior designs that manage to fascinate a few people with it. There are even some modern interior designs that have accomplished to raise a peculiar balance between the old and the new, capturing the best of both worlds.

Sometimes they fail in their attempt to create amazing results. But more often, they triumph to produce a classy attractive piece. I saw something like this just the other day.

An interior designer accented the use of chrome sparingly, as if it were about to go outmoded, in a few significant corners. The chrome get along very well with the wooden butcher’s blocks and granite counters, which were also complimented with wooden flooring and modern appliances. He was able to create a soothing ambience for the person entering the room. A room full of chrome color is at times a sore to the eyes, perhaps because of its glaring effect. The kitchen came together magnificently despite the deep striking green color of one wall.

This method of modern interior design is the desired expectation for the future of interior design. The old school of interior designs wouldn’t entirely be lost when the time comes for it to wither naturally. There is a time for everything. As older styles enter the threshold of the classics, giving way for new and untried ones to contribute its share in history, let us hope that we would not be too old as not to admire them.
