Creativity, the Measure of Beauty
Decorating on a budget can be as enjoyable and as challenging as you could imagine. But of course, a better way to start decorating on a budget is to change the outlook we have in terms of buying. Affordable items do not necessarily mean that they are of inferior and of less quality than the more expensive ones. Another is to start shopping with a list; this way you have less chances being caught unguarded in front of a commercially appealing commodity—drumming rhythmically these little desires with our heartbeat in a pacing that would eventually cause us to surrender. Don’t wait to realize in front of the cashier that you overshoot your budget nor wait to wake up that everything else has been left behind just because of one or two very expensive items.
Always have in mind that there are so many durable and elegant-looking items within the reasonable prices. Most of these expensive items would always have their affordable counterparts—one marketing strategy to get money both from the affluent buyers and the rest of the consumers.
The real worth of your decoration is not how much money you spent for it, but on how much creativity you invested with it. That is the measure of beauty.
At times though, one has to buy an expensive item without sacrificing the entire budget—perhaps just trimming down on the prices of some particular items to allow the purchase of an exceptionally rare or beautiful accent.
Either way, be creative and stick with the budget.
