Going Easy with the Colors
In the world of interior designing there are a few fundamental things which may either enhance your work for an extraordinary artistic achievement or cause it to be an insipid attempt in art. The overall color scheme, walls and ceiling included, are mediums that may convey a welcoming atmosphere of the room or a glaring effect barely no one can appreciate. Interior paint colors are the wrappings of your room. Without them you could hardly enhance your centerpiece or an accent to have the effect you wanted. Without them, it would likely be a box with a ribbon but without a wrapping. How would you like it to be?
For one thing, they should really match with the overall color scheme of the room. Though they shouldn’t be exactly in the same color, the paints should blend together creating one concept for the entire room.
The ceiling is always a difficult portion when you want it to be so elaborate. Wider ceilings can give the interior designer an edge for artistry. Normally, if you don’t have the benefit of space and much if you don’t have the expertise, better leave it plain and simple—perhaps in white.
Avoid using the same shade of color used on the wall or even a lighter shade to your ceiling. It may tend to lower the height of the room by pulling the visual height of the ceiling down, unless you tend to enjoy being placed in a box. In other words, no matter how light a variation in choosing interior paint colors, unless you choose a soft pastel color, you will create a visual effect of the room getting smaller.
If you really want to have striking and catchy interior paint colors, I would suggest having them on the walls. Yet you still have to be cautious not to overdo it. Seldom use the strongest colors. Otherwise, you might also have the room getting more narrow or smaller. Unless of course you are fortunate to have a very spacious room, avoid strong colors. They seem to bring walls closer together.
Interior paint colors would capture the conclusive look and feel of any room. Have a light and delicate touch, go easy on the intense colors, and stay away from the ceilings. Then you would enjoy your interior decorating efforts.
