Painting with a Sponge

When have you heard about sponge painting? Or haven’t you? What do you have in mind? Painting sponges with the variety of colors?

Well, one thing is that it involves painting and sponge.

Sponge painting is still painting on the walls. But it is not normally something where you can pass a paint brush to your kid and have him follow about how you are doing. Sponge painting consists with the fact that when you apply the sponge in painting the walls, you’re creating for a pattern to appear, though doing it in random. This means that kids might just be very good doing it randomly, but without any pattern of a sort.

So, is sponge painting really that complicated? Well, it’s not really that complicated. There are techniques on how to go about doing it. But of course, you have to settle on what look you want to achieve and its pattern. How you are going to achieve this pattern and the sponge that you should be using are factors too to consider. To have a rustic effect, for example, it depends upon the size of the sponge you are using and obviously the kind of paint color.

Paint some portions of the wall and slowly sponge the paint in a circular pattern, a vertical, or horizontal. You may even try to apply them alternately to get the look you have in mind. There are times, if not often, when you have to spend a reasonable time with it to achieve the result you are hoping for. Exercise care as well as enjoying. In the end, it will come out just great.

If you can now agree with me, sponge painting is not that complicated. The enjoyable part is to create an effect quite different from the outcome of the normal painting techniques. Doing it properly can have your wall wonderful effect.

When your kids are around, exercise a good judgment of whether you should do it or not. For sure, they will enjoy the idea of how you are doing it. You might wake up one morning to realize that your sponge painting project has been augmented by your kids’ sponge painting masterpiece.
